E-biking is an up-and-coming form of riding in cycling circles. It’s not built for traditional riders, but it helps to make bike riding accessible to a wider audience. E-bikes are a great way for new riders to get into the scene, and they also help veteran riders to extend the length of each ride, as well as being suitable for daily commuting. In addition to this, e-bikes are great for touring, as they help riders travel more efficiently and make it easier for groups to come together.
Check out the 4 bike touring destinations offered below to find inspiration for your next e-bike touring plans!

1.Great Ascension National Monument Area – Moab, Utah

Located in southern Utah, this national monument park is sparsely populated with varied terrain and winding scenery. There are also tons of hiking trails in the area, and you can hike into some hidden canyon routes that are not rideable. The roads here are covered in sludge and gravel, so be prepared with the proper gear, preferably an e-bike and larger tires. And it’s in the desert, so avoid riding during the hot season; even on an e-bike, it’s hard to tolerate such heat.
2.Sonoma County – California

Sonoma County is the largest wine producer in all of California, with several world-renowned wineries, but it also has some of the best biking terrain in the United States. You can ride all the way along the scenic Pacific coastline, or plan to ride inland along the old railroad line, passing wineries, local cafes or produce outlets along the way. Accommodation options are varied, from upscale bed and breakfasts to campgrounds, so whether you want the comfort of staying at home or a wilderness lifestyle, there’s something for everyone.
3.Mount Desert Island – Maine

Mount Desert Island is home to Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park and has some great cycling routes. Rent an e-bike and explore the pristine Atlantic coastline, or head deeper into the park for some steep hills. The island’s 45-mile transportation road runs adjacent to motorized roads and winding rivers in the Arcadia Canyon and mountains, is scenic, and features some quirky stone bridges.
Another favorite route is the Park Rim Highway, a one-way road that passes some of the most famous attractions along the way, such as sandy beaches, Thunder Cave and cliffs. If you’re up for a thrill, ride up to the top of Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the North Atlantic coastline and the first place to see the sunrise in the United States.
4.Costa Brava – Spain

Want to ride in a popular destination that has been favored by many touring riders for years? Get to know the Catalan coast, known as the Costa Brava. The region’s varied terrain makes it more suitable for e-biking. You can choose to schedule a day or two to ride along the Mediterranean coastline, then head into the mountains to explore some of the globally renowned hiking sites and natural beauty. When not riding, relax in one of the many beachfront hotels and enjoy some of the local specialties.
